What Are “False Values?”

What are “false values?”

An article from Bright Side cites 9 false values that modern society imposes upon us.

One is this one:

“A successful person should have a car, an apartment, and the latest iPhone.”

A Chinese client, Wong, came from a rich taipan family.

Five years after college, he had a nervous breakdown. He’s still not a millionaire, like his cousins.

He went into heavy drinking, smoking, and sexual indulgences with girls in the bar.

Due to false values intrusively placed into his brain, he suffered a hidden low self image.

He thought he could escape from it through his varied vices. Only to find himself stuck in a continuing painful cycle.

what are false values

The other modern day “false values” cited by Bright Side on its article are:

• “Why should I be inferior to a celebrity?”

• “I can’t live without Instagram.”

• “I’m trying my best to be a good mom.”

• “It’s shameful to be a cook or a seamstress.”

• “Bring me my first million.”

• “2 hours in front of the mirror and your natural make up is ready.”

• “Where did you go this year?”

• “The main thing is your comfort. Other people’s problems don’t relate to you.”

What are “false values?” They’re fake news. They’re lies imposed upon us that we’ve come to believe as true.

Abraham Lincoln, one of America’s greatest presidents (1809-1865), once said,

“I am not bound to succeed. But I am bound to live up to what light I have.”

Another Abraham – psychologist Abraham Lincoln – agrees with president Lincoln.

According to Maslow’s Self Actualization framework, we all strive to achieve our inner potential which may or may not result in success.

The “light” we have is the true value to be the best we can be.

Turn on the “light” on those false values spreading around us.
