Believe it, mistakes don’t make you a loser.
The truth is, you are allowed to make mistakes even on your own.
There will surely be hits and misses. Give yourself permission to make heaps of them.
You are allowed to be imperfect. You are human.
Mistakes don’t make you a loser. The earlier you realize that in your life, the better for your overall health and well being.
“I’ve never felt enough all my life. Not good enough, not capable enough,” confessed a young talented woman, Jennifer, during a face to face Skype session.
It’s crazy how Jennifer was pre-programmed since childhood to feel being a loser when making mistakes. In school. In friendships. In house chores. In life, in general.
Even in pregnancy amid a growing career, she’s led to believe that she’s nothing.
“You’re pregnant again, you’re trapped, what more can you do in your life,” she’d hear from a family member.
An advice from writer Karen Young from Hey Sigmund goes:
“The truth is that you are so enough. It’s crazy how enough you are. Open yourself up to the possibility of this and see what happens …You don’t even know what you’re capable of because you’ve never been encouraged to find out. You’re stronger than you think you are, braver, better and smarter than you think you are, and now is your time to prove it to yourself.”
Yes you can break free from the toxic mindset that you can’t make mistakes. That you are “not human.”
It takes mental distancing from ancient pain. Retreat deep inside emotionally. A few strokes on your face. Seeing, not just looking.
Catch the truth that you have the power to heal.
“We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past. But you are not your mistakes, you are here now with the power to shape your day and your future.” — Steve Maraboli
