Drink The Living Water

I offer you to drink the Living Water today, the day I was birthed into this world. Decades ago.

I used to hate birthdays. I didn’t want it. Never celebrating it. For how could I? It just felt I was left all alone in this world.

I got so thirsty. I remember distinctly as a kid how angry, fearful, and lonely I was because of that thirst.

There is nothing worse than an unquenched thirst.

How I tried to fill my “heart bucket” with water the world offers – approval, money, sports and chess, degrees, possessions, religion, people, better-this-more-of-that etc.

Yet I remained so thirsty as ever. Parched pieces of my soul I tried unsuccessfully to quiet and fill.

It’s so impossible to quench that thirst with things that don’t last.

Until … I found the Living Water. At that very moment and onwards, my soul has indeed been so filled

My heart touched and healed, it softens and opens up. Harshness vanishes. Love has its way.

Today, I drink the Living Water, my best gift every birthday and all the days of my life, that makes me not thirst any more …

… in the sweetness of His healing, in the fullness of His love and grace, the indescribable joy of His presence that never leaves me.

Drink the Living Water Jesus offers.

In John 4, Jesus knew that a Samaritan woman needed His help. Having asked her for a drink, following a brief conversation, Jesus told her:

“If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you Living Water (John 4:10 ESV).

The Living Water is the presence of God in your life. Thirst is the absence of God in your life.

“… whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” (John 4:14)

All of us in our purest essence cannot live without that Living Water no matter what we do.

I offer you this Living Water with a warm, loving embrace.
