Are You Here Now?

Are you here now? Life, you know, can be simple.

We live in a world of distractions. Our minds drift into different directions. We often miss what we have now … right in front of us.

While speaking to a struggling middle-aged couple, Tony and Tina, they couldn’t help but always be distracted.

One of their distractions was their constant “what ifs” in our sessions and conversations. A lot of worries or regrets about their past and future, they sort of forget what they do have now.

They always find themselves carried away by their fears and mistakes, instead of concentrating on what good they’re currently doing together to heal their marriage.

It’s noticeable too how much the ringing of their mobile phones was part of their interruptions in our sessions.

Speaking of mobile phones, as a side note, do you know that they’re today’s top notch distraction for us not to “be present in now?”

A study made reveals the extent of how the use of our cell phones contribute to worsening interruptions, distractions, and inconveniences in our lives.

Its statistics shows that, on the average, people touch and use their cell phones 2.617 times a day. The top 10% of users do it 5,400 times a day.

Watch or think of a new-born baby. He/she has neither past nor future yet.

He/she simply delights in the present, which only a few of us do or are able to experience.

are you here now?

Time is passing. Every day is a gift. Celebrate the moment.

Resolve not to waste any one present moment of time. Be there. Enjoy. Be thankful.

Don’t miss what you have right in front of you. Live in undivided attention in now.

Are you here now?

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothes? … Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:25, 34)
